Firefox 9 Beta For Windows, OS X And Linux Now Available For Download

A mere two days have passed since Mozilla dropped the official final release of Firefox 8 for public consumption, and already, Mozilla has seeded the first beta version of Firefox 9, and we used to complain about Chrome having the fastest release cycles.

The highlighting feature of this release is however; cosmetic changes for OS X Lion users. That’s all well and good except, well, there doesn’t actually appear to be any change – whatsoever.

Having used Firefox 9 beta on our OS X Lion touting Mac for a good 10 minutes, its safe to say that we didn’t come across anything new, cosmetically that is. Maybe we were just too quick in passing our judgment, or, if we’re not wrong, the changes are very acute to be noticed.

Despite OS X Lion having been around for quite a while now, and despite Mozilla suggesting significant improvements for it, nothing has yet materialized. Those using a Mac will have to wait a little longer until Mozilla figures out a way to utilize Lion’s native features down to their bones.

As well as theme integration for Lion, there are one or two notable updates, for developers and generally inquisitive folk to mull over, including Type Inference to make JavaScript a great deal faster.

Although Mozilla is working around the clock to try and improve its browser, and whist there’s nothing altogether wrong with updating at frequent intervals, the trend of labeling every modest release with a new version saps the excitement of installing a new release. For me, moving from version 7 to version 8 should mean a significant overhaul rather than a couple of improvements and some vanity house upgrades.

Having said that, it keeps Firefox in the news (evidently), as it battles to stay relevant in the midst of the fast rise of Google Chrome – which itself (albeit less overtly) is quickly racking up the version numbers. Currently at version 15 if you’re wondering.

iTunes 10.5.1 Beta 3 With iTunes Match

Apple today has gone out and released a completely new beta of iTunes 10.5.1 to developers ahead of public release.

The Beta 3 build, which is now available to the registered developers of iOS Dev Center only, comes with iTunes Match, along with other performance and stability improvements.

From iOS Dev Center:

iTunes 10.5.1 beta 3 is now available. This update includes a number of important stability and performance improvements for iTunes Match.

iTunes Match stores your music library in iCloud and allows you to enjoy your collection from anywhere, any time, on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, computer or Apple TV.

In order to subscribe to iTunes Match, or continue using your existing subscription, please upgrade to iTunes 10.5.1 beta 3. Once upgraded, turn on iTunes Match on each of your computers and iOS devices. On your computer, choose Store > Turn on iTunes Match. On your iOS device, tap Settings > Music, then turn on iTunes Match. On your Apple TV, please turn off iTunes Match under Settings > General > iTunes Store.

The songs on your computer should not be affected. As always, please backup regularly and do not delete the music you add to iCloud from your computer.

iTunes 10.5.1 with iTunes Match was originally scheduled for a late October release. But that obviously didn’t happen. Apple is now expected to roll out the service to public in the next few days.

AppLocker : Password Protect Your iPhone applications (Cydia iOS 5)

iOS 5 is jailbroken since it’s availability, but still many popular cydia tweaks aren’t optimized for iOS 5. LockDown Pro and Locktopus, two very famous iPhone App password protection tweaks aren’t supported to iOS 5 till the date. Android Simulator Dengan Android Market on windows 7

Android SDK adalah sebuah software yang diciptakan untuk pengembangan aplikasi di Os Android. Seperti namanya software ini berguna untuk mensimulasikan OS Android pada PC. Selain untuk fungsi pengembangan emulator ini juga dapat digunakan untuk mencoba aplikasi-aplikasi yang disediakan oleh para developer Os tersebut. Walau emulator ini memiliki keterbatasan dalam penggunaan marketnya dan keterbatasan dalam requiretments saat instal apps tertentu, namun cukuplah untuk mengobati keingintahuan kita terhadap OS Android.
Langsung saja pada turotial menginstal emulator android ini.

1. Kita membutuhkan SDK Android. Adapun SDK Android yang kita gunakan adalah SDK r10 untuk windows. Berikut linknya

2. Ekstrak File tersebut ke folder instalasi yang anda inginkan...
3. Download OS Android-1.6_r03 untuk Windows. Berikut linknya.

4. Ekstrak file tersebut ke folder "android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\platforms".
5. Jalankan SDK Manager.exe pada folder instalasi tersebut. Cancel saja semua update. Jangan menginstal update apapun! Pastikan pada tab installed packages, seperti preview:

6. Kemudian masih dari SDK Manager, pada tab virtual devices klik New virtual Device. Akan muncul window "Create New AVD Virtual Devices" isikan data kurang lebih sebagai berikut:

7. Setelah selesai Klik Tombol Create AVD. Bersabarlah karena pada saat pembuatan AVD tersebut computer akan terlihat hang beberapa saat sampai muncul windows seperti preview.

8. Jangan menjalankan Virtual Devicenya terlebih dahulu sampai saatnya nanti, jika anda menjalankannya Android market tidak akan bisa berjalan sempurna. Download file Image HTC yang telah mendukung Android Market. Berikut linknya:

Jika anda menggunakan link resmi maka pilihlah yang system: signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-img-14721.zip. Accept semua terms dan download...

9. Ekstrak file dari HTC tersebut dan copy system.img nya saja ke path C:\Users\Nama user komputer anda\.android\avd\nama avd anda.avd.

10. Disini kita akan membuat Shortcut Untuk menjalankan simulator langsung dari desktop. Bukalah folder tools pada instalasi SDK anda, Klik kanan pada emulator.exe untuk membuat shortcut. Emulator.exe tidak menjalankan emulator secara langsung. Oleh karena itu bukalah panel properties shortcut yang anda buat (klik kanan > properties pada shortcut) kemudian pada kolom target tambahkan @"Nama Avd Anda" kemudian klik apply dan OK.

11. Jalankan Simulator Android anda melalui SDKManager.exe, cancel saja semua instalasi update dan pilih Kolom Virtual device > Klik AVD anda > dan Klik Start.

Setelah itu akan muncul window Launch Option... Centanglah Wipe User Data untuk penggunaan pertama.

12. Simulator Anda sekarang sudah bisa digunakan layaknya HP Android hanya tidak bisa menggunakan Telepon dan SMS saja... Kalo Kompi Anda tersambung dengan Internet maka Anda bisa mendownload semua Aplikasi di Android Marketnya dan membuka browsernya. Walau tak semua aplikasi yang ada di Aplikasi Android Market yang ada di HP ada di Android Market di Simulator ini.

Jika diperintahkan untuk menslide Android anda gunakan tombol Ctrl+F11 (Gunakan kombinasi CTRL sebelah kiri bukan sebelah Kanan). Jika ingin menggunakan angka maka gunakan angka diatas susunan huruf pada keybord atau tombol dilayar simulator. NB: Pada simulator Numlock keyboard tidak dapat digunakan.

Silahkan mendownload semua aplikasi yang tersedia di Android Marketnya.

13.  Bagaimana jika aplikasi yang anda inginkan tidak tersedia di android marketnya? Pertama anda harus mendownload ADB nya karena default ADB sudah dihapus... Berikut link ADB nya

14. Extract ADB tersebut ke direktori android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools.

15. Setelah itu anda boleh mencari aplikasi apa yang anda inginkan. selama aplikasi tersebut berformat .apk maka aplikasi tersebut bisa diinstal di Android simulator anda. Di luar sana banyak developer yang memberikan link untuk mendownload aplikasi .apk, setelah mendownloadnya silahkan memindahkan file .apk tersebut ke folder yang sama dengan anda mengekstrak ADB tadi sebelumnya, yakni di direktori android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools.

16. Jalankan emulator anda melalui shortcut yang telah anda buat sebelumnya, tunggu sampai selesai boot dan biarkan running background.

17. Kemudian arahkan path comand prompt anda ke android-sdk_r10-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools atau cara mudahnya buka direktori tools dan pada foldernya tekan SHIFT + Klik kanan > Pilih Open Comand Window From Here.

18. Ketikan pada Comand Prompt yang telah mengarah ke tools tadi: adb install namaaplikasi.apk (sebagai contoh saya ingin menginstal Runkeeper.apk) maka perintah yang saya ketik adalah: "adb install runkeeper.apk".

19. Jika berhasil maka setelah anda tekan enter akan muncul preview berikut yang menyatakan install anda succes.

20. Setelah selesai close jendela comand prompt tersebut dan lihat di menu android emulator telah terinstal runkeeper.

Metallica

siapa yang gak kenal band metal ini.....

Metallica didirikan pertama kali di Los Angeles - Amerika Serikat dengan nama The Young of Metal Attack. Beberapa bulan kemudian grup ini berganti nama dengan Metallica yang konon merupakan gabungan kata Metal dan Vodca. Nama Metallica sendiri sebenarnya adalah nama yang diusulkan untuk sebuah majalah musik yang dicuri oleh Lars Ulrich sebelum majalah tersebut mendapat nama tersebut.


Formasi pertama Metallica adalah Lars Ulrich (drum), James Hetfield (vokal dan gitar), Lloyd Grant (gitar) dan Ron Mc Govney (bass).

Formasi inilah yang kemudian melahirkan lagu pertama berjudul Hit The Light, yang kemudian masuk album kompilasi rock Metal Massacre tahun 1981.


Setelah Metal Massacre beredar, Grant dan Ron mengundurkan diri. Posisi Grant digantikan oleh Dave Mustaine dan posisi Ron digantikan Cliff Burton.


Formasi ini kemudian pada Juli 1982 mengeluarkan demo-album No Life Till Leather. Demo inilah yang kemudian mengantarkan Metallica mendapatkan agen dan kemudian hijrah ke New York.


Pada 1983, Metallica berencana akan melakukan tur pendek kebeberapa kota. Sayang Hetfield dan Mustaine malah terlibat perseteruan, hingga akhirnya Mustaine keluar dan kemudian mendirikan Megadeth. Posisi Mustaine digantikan oleh Kirk Hammett , gitaris dari grup Exodus.

Formasi ketiga inilah yang kemudian mengeluarkan album Kill 'Em All pada bulan Mei 1983.


Pada tahun 1984, Metallica semakin besar dengan menerbitkan album Ride the Lightning. Album ini bertahan 50 minggu dalam Billboard Top 200. Demi memperlancar promosi mereka juga mengeluarkan mini album Jump In The Fire.


September 1985, Metallica memproduksi album Master Of Puppets. Kembali Metallica masuk Billboard Top 40 selama 72 minggu. Album ini merupakan album yang meraih platinum tanpa single dan video.


Tanggal 27 September 1986, dalam perjalanan tur ke Skandinavia - bus yang mereka tumpangi mengalami kecelakaan dan Cliff Burton (bass) meninggal dunia. Peristiwa ini begitu memukul seluruh anggota band. Bahkan Dave Mustaine yang telah mendirikan Megadeth, mengenang kematian Cliff dalam lagu In My Darkest Hour (album Megadeth: So far.. So Good.. So What!). Oktober 1986, posisi Cliff Burton digantikan oleh Jason Newsted, basis dari grup Floatsam And Jetsam.

Album ...And Justice For All beredar September 1988. Disinilah Metallica mulai mengeluarkan video klip. Video pertama mereka adalah untuk lagu One, video ini mencapai nomor 1 di MTV. Keberhasilan ini kemudian mendorong produksi video klip Cliff 'Em All sebuah video kenangan untuk Cliff Burton.


Akhir 1990 album Metallica direkam. Album ini membuat Metallica mencapai penjualan quadruple platinum dan menjadi album nomor satu di delapan negara Amerika dan Eropa. Serta meraih penghargaan Grammy Award, kategori Penampil Metal Terbaik dua tahun berturut-turut.


Basis jason Newsted mengundurkan diri dari band setelah bersitegang dengan James Hetfield. Perseteruan ini disebabkan Jason Newsted lebih menghabiskan waktu dengan proyek-nya sendiri. Anggota band yang lain menganggap Metallica harus diutamakan, meskipun pada saat itu Metallica sedang vakum.


Grup ini pada saat ini beranggotakan Lars Ulrich (drums), James Hetfield (vokal dan gitar), Kirk Hammett (gitar) dan Robert Trujillo (bass).

Mantan anggota lainnya termasuk Ron McGovney (bass), Dave Mustaine (gitar), Cliff Burton (bass) dan Jason Newsted (bass).


Pada tanggal 10 Agustus 2008 Metallica akhirnya telah menyelesaikan proses rekaman album studio baru mereka yang ke sembilan "Death Magnetic" yang akan diluncurkan pada tanggal 12 September 2008 di seluruh dunia.


Album tersebut diproduseri oleh "Rick Rubin" dan proses rekaman dilakukan di Sound City Studios, Shangri La Studios dan di studio Metallica sendiri.


Single dan video klip pertama mereka "The Day That Never Comes" akan dirilis akhir bulan ini. Sebagai tambahan anda dapat mengunduh semua lagu dari album tersebut untuk digunakan dalam game "Guitar Hero III" pada hari saat peluncuran album "Death Magnetic" tersebut.
